The actions that we undertake are focused on three basic areas:
prevention, intervention, and extension
The services of prevention include actions with the character of diffusion.
They aim to raise the awareness of inequality and social violence with the
intention to form a culture of respect and cooperation between men and women.
The services of intervention cover attention to immediate necessities of people,
who were affected by violence, on an emotional, legal, and physical level.
Finally, the services of extension try to maintain a direct relationship with the
society through educational and social activities especially in parts of society
with high risks of violence.
In the prevention area we organize a program in three parts: orientation and
prevention workshops, theatre with puppets (live or on video) for children, and
orientation and information modules. Topics offered are:
• Incest and violation
• Violation of teenagers and adults
• Sexual education
• Intra-family violence
• Guide for parents and teachers about sexual abuse of children
• Gender education
• Sexual harassment
• Strategies of protection in situations with high risk
The intervention area includes the fundamental activities of our mission.
They consist of psychological, legal, and medical support for people who have
directly or indirectly been victims of abuse or any other type of violence. We
offer the following services:
• Legal consultation
• Individual psychotherapy for children and adults
• Family psychotherapy
• Pair psychotherapy
• Workshops for victims of domestic violence
• Social work, creation of networks
• Telephone support 24 hours, 365 days a year
• Medical consultation, if people lack access to medical aid
The extension activities intend to complement the effects of the actions of
intervention and prevention, and to extend the cover of the professional services
of the Center, by means of proposals based on the real needs of communities suffering
from domestic violence. At the moment we are working on the design and implementation
of communitarian activities in this area.
